Тема: «Living things around us». (УМК О.А. Афанасьева, И.В. Михеева, 2011г.)

Класс: 8

Цель:  Обобщение лексического материала по теме «Окружающая среда».

Задачи:

  1. Активизировать пройденный материал (лексика по теме «Защита окружающей среды», употребление модального глагола should)

  2. Формировать навыки употребления новых лексических и грамматических единиц в речи.

  3. Расширить кругозор учащихся, развивать память и внимание, активизировать речемыслительную деятельность.

  4. Создать условия для формирования умения учащихся работать в группах на основе полученных знаний; помочь учащимся высказать собственное мнение об охране окружающей среды.

  5. Формировать критическое отношение к действительности, воспитывать положительное отношение к охране окружающей среды.



Оборудование: презентация, тексты, учебник, словари, распечатки, видео.

Ход урока:

  1. Организационный этап:

Good morning children! Glad to see you! Sit down!

  1. Основной этап:

Today we are going to start our lesson with a poem. Look at the screen and listen to me!

Look around and you will see:

Berries, flowers, bushes and trees,

Mountains are very high,

Birds are flying in the sky.

You can swim in the sea.

You can climb different trees.

All around us is nature,

Full of wonders and adventures.

(to ask 2 pupils to read it)

Good for you! Now I want you to complete the mind map. The main word is nature. What is it? What does nature consist of? What words are associated with it?













(plants, animals, birds, forest, river…..)

You are right! What are we going to speak about today?

(We are going to speak about nature, environment)

What do we need for our lesson?

(We need to remember the words, a grammar rule, to speak about ecology and ecological problems).

Very well! At first, let’s remember the words which you have already learnt. Answer my questions :

  1. What birds do you know?

  2. Which of the birds you may have as pets?

  3. Which of the birds live in our forest?

  4. What animals do you know?

  5. Which of the animals are wild?

  6. What plants can you name?

Good job! I see that you know words. The next task is to agree or disagree with the statements.

  1. The air in our village is fresh and good.

  2. People pollute rivers, lakes and seas.

  3. Our planet is in danger.

Right you are! That’s why we are going to read and translate the text “Animals in danger”. While reading the text you should find known information, unknown information and information which you would like to know more using such signs as +, -,?.

  3. What would you like to know more?

Excellent work! We will watch a video now which is called “Save these beautiful animals”. Be ready to discuss what we can do save animals.

I completely agree with you. Today we will try to make the Red Book which can help us to save rare animals.

Let’s divide into 3 groups. Each group will have the name of the animal (African ostrich, Russian desman, Amur tiger). You should describe them using a plan at the screen:

  1. Name

  2. Short description

  3. Eating habits

  4. The place of living

  5. Number

  6. Interesting facts about animals

There is some information on your desks. Choose what you need for your story and be ready to show us your projects. Phrases on your cards can help you.

3.Заключительный этап:

Рефлексия: The last task for today is a sinkvein. I remember you the rules:

  1. Существительное

  2. 2 прилагательных

  3. 3 глагола

  4. Фраза, раскрывающая суть

  5. Существительное-вывод

(составляют синквейн)
