Introduction.
Teacher: Good day, dear friends. Today we are having our first English party. It is called”Golden Autumn”. Let’s sing first.
Singing the song “The more we are together”
I hope you like autumn. Look at the pictures about autumn. It brings different colours: yellow, green, orange, brown and red. In autumn cold winds blow, it often rains. But now answer my questions: What season is it now? What is the weather like in autumn? Is it cold? What colour are the leaves on the trees? Is the sun shining now? Does it often rain? Does it sometimes snow in autumn? What do you do in autumn? Do you like it? In September pupils go to school. Sasha is retelling a poem. Poems about autumn.
A pupil 1: Summer is over
Autumn comes
In the fields and the forest.
Everything is dull
Birds flew away
The days are shorter
The sun shines rare
Dark, dark nights.
Teacher: It’s time for Autumn come to us. Welcome, welcome Golden Autumn!
Autumn: Hello, my friends! Glad to see you here! Do you like my dress?
Do you like my parks and gardens?
All pupils: Yes!
Teacher: Hello, Autumn Fairy! It is very good that you are here.
Autumn: Look, my apples like honey
Everybody makes some jam.
I brought you flour
You will make a pie!
You can see my honey
And my autumn weather! Do you like my rain?
All pupils: No, no!
Autumn: Our harvest is rich this year. Do you like my harvest?
All: Yes, we do. And who is this coming?
Doctor: I am a kind doctor. I want to give you the advice:
If you want to be healthy and strong
You should love vegetables, eat them all.
Autumn: All right, doctor. See you later, then. Do you know my sisters? Here they are: September, October and November.
P 2: September
It’s September and the leaves
Are following down
All around me.
I see only red and brown.
People come and they go
And seasons too I know.
P 3: Symphony in Yellow
Big barges of yellow hay
Are moved against the shadowy wharf,
And like a yellow silken scarf.
The thick fog hangs along the quay.
Teacher: What do you know about September, Sasha?
Pupil 1: When I see the yellow, red leaves,
I know: it is September!
When I see the flying away birds,
When pupils go to school again,
I know: it is September!
Autumn: Now listen the poems about October.
P 4: October
The month is amber
Gold and brown.
Blue ghosts of smoke
Float through the town!
Great V’s of geese
Hank overhead
And maples turn
A fairy red!
P 5: November party
November gave a party,
The trees by hundreds came,
The chestnuts, oaks and maples,
And leaves of every name!
Autumn: And what do October, November mean?
P3: When there are no vegetables on the fields
I know: it is October!
When hedgehogs and bears fell asleep
I know: it is October!
P 5: It becomes colder,
It often rains
Everything is dull,
I know: it is November!
Autumn: Thank you very much. Do you know any poems about rain or wind?
P 2: I know a poem “Autumn”.
The summer is over
The trees are all bare,
There is mist in the garden
And frost is in the air.
P3: Autumn rain
As I am getting out of bed
I can hear the rain.
Pitter – patter, pitter – patter
On my window – pane.
P 4: Rain, rain, go away
Come again another day
Little Mary wants to play
On a sunny lovely day.
P 5: Wind
I love the wind,
It makes me run.
I think that it is
Lots of fun.
Autumn: Thank you! I see that you know all about autumn months and the weather! And do you know how to guess my riddles?
