The Past Perfect expresses the idea that something occurred before another action in the past. It can also show that something happened before a specific time in the past.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is Parliamentary Monarchy or Constitutional Monarchy.

Britain doesn’t have a written constitution. The Queen or King is the head of the state. The power is hereditary, not elective. The Queen or King reigns but doesn’t rule. The present Sovereign is Queen Elizabeth II. She was crowned in Westminster Abbey in 1953.



British parliament

Рower in the country belongs to Parliament. Parliament is the most important authority in Britain. It is responsible for British national policy.

The British Parliament consists of the House of Lords and the House of Commons. The House of Lords is not elected, the power is hereditary (members are called peers). The House of Lords is presided over by the Lord Chancellor. The House of Lords has no real power.
