Ход урока:

1.Организационный момент.

- Good morning, children!

- Good morning, teacher!

- I’m glad to see you. (We are glad to see you too.)

- How are you? (We are fine, thanks. And how are you?)

- I’m fine, thank you. Who is away today?

4.Совершенствование навыков техники чтения.

And now let’s read the text about one of the places of interest of London and answer the questions.

London is a royal city. The British king or queen has a palace there – Buckingham palace. Queen Elisabeth II and her family live there now. The British people like the queen and the royal family.

Important visitors often go to the palace. They meet the queen and the royal family inside the palace.

A lot of tourist go to Buckingham palace too, but they don’t go inside, and they don’t meet the queen. They stand outside and see Changing of the Guard. There are always guardsmen outside the palace. Every day a new guard of thirty guardsmen in big fur hats marches to the palace and takes the place of the ‘old guard’ – that is ‘the changing of the guard’.

It is not a big ceremony. London has other important royal ceremonies too.
