Goals : to revise vocabulary on the theme

to develop students’ skills in learning and speaking

to improve auding skills

Materials: pictures, cards with dialogues,crossword.

Plan:

I Procedure

Greeting:

T: Good morning students.

S: Good morning Miss Aida and Miss Aygerim

T: How are you?

S: We are fine, thank you. And you?

T: I am fine. Thank you. Look at the symbol of Kazakhstan, put your hand over your heart and say the pledge.

II Pledge.

To my flag of Kazakhstan and to the country which it represents I pledge respect and loyalty, I promise to be honest, hard-working, kind and polite to my classmates and to everybody

III Phonetic drill.

What date is it today?

What day of the week is it today?

What day of the week was yesterday?

What day of the week will be tomorrow?

What season is it now?

What is the weather like today?

How many month are there in winter?

What are they?

What holidays are there in winter?

What season comes after winter?

IV Solving the crossword

LOOK AT THE NUMBERS ON THE PICTURES AND WRITE THE PLACES IN A CITY IN THE CROSSWORD PUZZLE.

V. Auding

Students listen to the dialogues “Asking the way”

Excuse me. Can you tell me where South Street is, please?
Take the second on the left and then ask again.
– Is it far?
No, it’s only about five minutes’ walk.
– Many thanks.
Not at all.

Excuse me, please. Could you tell me the way to the station?
Turn round and turn left at the traffic-lights.
– Will it take me long to get there?
No, it’s no distance at all.
– Thank you.
That’s OK.

Excuse me, but I’m trying to find the Town Hall.
Take the third on the right and go straight on.
– Should I take a bus?
No, you can walk it in under five minutes.
Thank you very much indeed.
That’s quite all right.

Excuse me, please. Could you tell me how to get to the town centre?
– First right, second left. You can’t miss it.
Is it too far to walk?
– No, it’s only a couple of hundred yards.
Thanks very much.
– It’s a pleasure.



VI Written task.

Read the sentences and make up the dialogues. Say the dialogues in pairs.

VII. Game “Giving directions”

Look at the pictures of streets and places. Guess what place is it and give the direction how to get to a place.

VIII. Sing a song. “If you’re happy”

IX. PACE work. Students start working their PACEs.

X. Clean Up.

Stop working PACEs. Cross out goals. Set goals on Friday.

XI. Dismissal

The lesson is over. Goodbye. See you on Friday. Have a good d
