Цели:
Ознакомление с лексикой по теме «Достопримечательности Лондона»;
Активизация знаний по грамматике «Present Simple», «Present Progressive»;
Проверка знаний по теме «География Британии»;
Развитие фонематических и произносительных навыков, диалогической речи;
Тренировка навыков чтения;
Совершенствование грамматических и лексических навыков, навыков работы с текстом;
Формирование интереса к реалиям страны изучаемого языка и позитивного отношения к другим культурам.
Оборудование урока: карточки со звуковыми значками, аудиозапись, карта «The British Isles», раздаточный материал (тексты и упражнения к нему), материалы УМК «Английский с удовольствием» для 5-6 классов (Биболетова М. З.), иллюстрации для отработки Present Progressive, , иллюстрации с видами природы в разное время года, карточки со словами.
Ход урока:
Оргмомент и речевая зарядка.
- Good morning, boys and girls! Nice to see you. Today we’ll have an exciting trip around the capital of the UK. We’ll read, speak, ask and answer questions and learn new words. Let’s start!
- Look at the pictures, try to describe the weather (иллюстрации с видами природы в разное время года).
- What is the best season to visit Great Britain? Why do you think so?
- What is the weather like today?
- I hope you’ll have a nice travelling, I wish you good luck!
Игра «Интервью».
- But let’s imagine that we have a new student in our class and let’s meet him before the travelling (ученик выходит к доске, другие учащиеся задают разные типы вопросов о школе, семье, хобби, любимых цветах, продуктах, времени года и т. д.)
- Nice to meet you. We are glad to see you.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is an English-speaking country. London is the capital of the country. It is one of the most interesting and beautiful cities.
There are many places of interest in London. You can see Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Trafalgar Square and Tower Bridge.
The Tower of London is very old. It is not just one building and the White Tower is its oldest part. Many years ago the Kings and Queens (короли и королевы) of Britain lived there. Now the Queen lives in Buckingham Palace.
You can see the Houses of Parliament from the river Thames [ ‘temz ] (с берегов реки Темзы). And near there is Big Ben. Big Ben is really the biggest clock bell (часы-колокол). Also you can see Westminster Abbey, which is the symbol of England.
Trafalgar Square is the main (главная) square of the city. There are a lot of cinemas, theatres, parks and other places of interest in London.
