Mrs. Harper, Mrs. Lawrence (together): What news?
Mrs. Miller: Judge Thatcher’s wife has come back with their daughter!
Mrs. Lawrence: What! Have you seen them?
Mrs. Miller: No, not yet! I think we shall meet them soon.
(Suddenly Aunt Polly appeared)
[pic]
Aunt Polly: Good morning! Glad to see you!
Mrs. Harper, Mrs. Lawrence, Mrs. Miller: Good morning Mrs. Sawyer!
Aunt Polly: You haven’t seen my Tom?
Mrs. Harper: No, I don’t think I have.
Mrs. Miller: What’s happened?
Aunt Polly: He keeps disappearing! What shall I do with the boy?
Mrs. Lawrence: Maybe he is somewhere with that Huck Finn again?
Mrs. Harper: Oh, that Huck Finn!
Aunt Polly: Yes, I’m afraid so!
(Three girls are appearing in the nick of time)
Jane: Have you heard the news?
Kate: No, what’s happened?
Amy: A new girl has come.
Kate: Yes, Judge Thatcher’s daughter, Becky Thatcher.
Jane: Will she go to school, do you think?
Amy: Of course!
Kate: Sure, she will come to school tomorrow maybe.
The second scene (at home)
(Tom is surfing the Net)
Том: What a beautiful girl! How can I meet her, I wonder! Oh, I have an idea! At the disco! Today! At six o’clock! Aunt Polly: Tom, Tom! Where’s that boy gone, I wonder! You, Tom! Are you surfing the Net again! Is your homework ready?
Tom: No, not yet!
Aunt Polly: Forty times have I told you! You must do your homework and then what you want!
( Tom is suffering from a headache)
Aunt Polly: What the matter with you, Tom?
Tom: Oh, my headache! I can’t go to school today! Can I stay here, Aunt Polly, please!
Aunt Polly: So all this was because you thought you would stay home from school and go playing football or fishing, or dancing. Tom, Tom I love you so, and you seem to try everything to break my old heart with your wickedness.
(Aunt Polly is going away)
Sid: Tom! Tom!
Tom: Oh boys! It’s great you’ve come. I need your support. I’m going to the disco to meet a nice girl.
Sid: Why? Isn’t it better to play football at the stadium?
Tom: It’s wonderful, but I can’t!
Huck: Or go fishing?
Tom: You are right, But I can’t! I really need to be there!
Huck: Let’s go and see this girl!
(Aunt Polly is appearing)
Aunt Polly: Oh, Tom, you have disappeared again. You ran away with these naughty boys. I wish I were a boy! (A song)
If I were a boy
I think that I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I’d be a better man
I’d listen to her
Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
Cause he’s taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed!
The fourth scene (at the disco)
[pic]
The boys are dancing on the one side of the hall, the girls on the other. Suddenly they see each other. Their hearts are beating. They are going towards each other.
Tom: I wrote your name in the sky,
but the wind blew it away.
Becky:I wrote your name in the sand,
but the waves washed it away.
Tom and Becky:
I wrote your name in my heart,
and forever it will stay!
Happy End!
