Оборудование: картинки и фотографии по теме «Лондон».
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент
- Good morning, children! {Good morning, Мария Петровна!)
- I am glad to see you. (We are glad to see you too.)
- Today we shall have a talk about the capital of the UK and listen to the new dialogue.
II. Фонетическая зарядка
Swan swam over the sea,
Swim, swan, swim.
Swan swam back again.
Well swum, swan!
A fly and flea
Flew into a flue,
Said the fly to the flea
'What shall we do?'
'Let us fly' said the flea
Said the fly 'shall we flee'
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.
New poem:
A bear and a bunny had plenty of money
That went to the store for carrots and honey.
When the bear and the bunny
Asked for "Carrots and honey!"
The man of the store cried: "Where is your money?".
How strange and how funny! They really had money!
And that's how they bought their carrots and honey.

- I want to ask you some questions. You must be quick and attentive. Учитель задает вопросы учащимся в быстром темпе. Примерные вопросы:
- What is your name? (My name is Kate.)
- How old are you? (I am eight.)
- What are you doing now? (I am sitting now.)
- What is Kate doing? (She is looking at the blackboard.)
- Do you like to eat sweets for breakfast? (No, I don 7. / don't like to eat sweets for breakfast.)
- Did you help your mother yesterday? (Yes, I did. I helped my mother yesterday.)
- Will you go to the park tomorrow? (Yes, I shall. I shall go to the park tomorrow.)
- When do you have lunch? (I have lunch at eleven о 'с lock j
- Can you friend play the guitar? (Yes, he can.)
- Where do you have supper? (I have supper at home.) Etc,
IV. Развитие навыков аудирования
- I want you to listen to the dialogue. The boy and the girl are having a talk about London. Listen to the dialogue and find out what the girl brought from the UK for Oleg and his friends.
Учитель предлагает учащимся прослушать диалог из упр. 1, с. 60-61 из учебника. Во время прослушивания диалога учебники учащихся должны быть закрыты. Задание для учащихся; прослушать диалог и выяснить, что Лиза привезла из Великобритании для Олега и его друзей.
- Can you answer the question now? What did Liza bring for Oleg and his friends? (She brought some letters for him.)
Now open your books, page 60, exercise 1.
V. Обучение вопросно-ответной работе на материале диалога
- Look through the dialogue and answer my questions.
Учащиеся открывают учебники, с. 60-62, упр. 1, читают диалог вслух и отвечают на следующие вопросы учителя по содержанию диалога.
Вопросы учителя:
- What country is Liza from? (She is from Great Britain.)
- How long will she stay in Russia? (She will stay in Russia for two days.)
- Does she like Moscow? (Yes, she does. She likes Moscow.)
- Does Liza think that Moscow is different from London? (Yes, she does. She thinks Moscow is different from London.)
- Has Oleg been to London? (No, he hasn't. He hasn't been to London.)
- Does Liza like London? How can you prove it? (She likes London. She says it's one of the most famous and interesting cities in Europe. Liza says London is one of her favourite cities.)
- What places can a person visit in London? (There are a lot of places to visit in London: museums, art galleries, theatres, cinemas, parks and stadiums.)
- Does Liza live in London? (No, she doesn't. She lives not far from London.)
- Prepare good reading of this dialogue at home. We shall read it in pairs at the next lesson.

- Will you read the task of exercise 2, page 61? Let's listen to the words from this exercise and repeat them after the speaker. Учитель организует повторение за диктором слов из упр. 2, с. 61. Ученики читают слова за диктором хором, в парах и индивидуально.
VIII. Совершенствование навыков грамматики и диалогической речи
- I am sure all pupils of our class would like to visit London. I think you have a lot of questions to Liza. Work in pairs for 4 minutes and prepare three questions about the capital of Great Britain. Then we shall read the questions and try to answer them. Look at the pictures on the blackboard. They will help you to answer the questions.
Учитель привлекает внимание детей к картинкам по теме «Лондон», развешенным на доске. Учащиеся работают в парах и составляют по 3 вопроса о Лондоне в течение 4 минут. Затем ученики зачитывают вопросы и отвечают на них. В конце урока учитель предлагает выбрать самые интересные вопросы о Лондоне и лучшего знатока Лондона среди детей.
Примерные вопросы учащихся:
What is the main square in London? Are the streets wide in London? Is London an old city? Are there many churches in the capital of the UK? Is London bigger than Moscow? What river does London stand on? Etc.

- That's all we have time for. We shall meet on Wednesday. The lesson is over.
