Тема: “Local Dishes”

Цель: - формировать навыки употребления лексических единиц; стимулировать коммуникативно- познавательную деятельность ; приобщить к самостоятельной поисковой работе; расширить социокультурный кругозор учащихся;

- совершенствовать навыки чтения, аудирования, ;

- развивать навыки устной монологической речи, память, мышление;

- воспитывать интерес к кулинарии, приготовлению блюд, здоровому питанию;

Оборудование: компьютер, картинки, карточки.

ХОД УРОКА

I WARMING- UP

Teacher: Good morning, dear students! Glad to see you. How are you? Do you have a good mood? If you are all right, let’s start our lesson. Today we’ll sum up the topic “Quantity and Quality”.

II MAIN BODY

Teacher: We have been learning all about genetically modified food, healthy food, methods of cooking, ingredients and restaurant service.

1. Revision

Brainstorm Teacher: What verbs are used while cooking? Say as many verbs as you can. to chop to grate to slice to mash to fry to dry to stew to mix to roast to pour to boil to grill to steam to spread to cut to peel to deep to sprinkle

Proverbs and quotations Teacher: There are so many kinds of food and we can eat everything that we like. There is a well-known proverb “Tastes are differ”. Can you find other equivalents to it? Do you know other quotations and sayings connected with food? Write them on the board.

  • Every man to his taste.

  • Everyone to his own tastes.

  • There is no accounting for tastes.

  • One man’s meat is another man’s bad poison.

  • The more you eat, the less flavor; the less you eat ,the more flavor.(Chinese proverb)

Teacher: It’s not a secret that people have their own tastes and food preferences. It is a fact that we enjoy going out, visiting restaurants and trying traditional dishes. Teacher: And now we have a chance to get know more about local dishes in different countries. Let’s check your homework. While listening complete the boxes in you exercise books. Name of the Dish Country Ingredients

Teacher: What dish would you like to try? Why? Why not?

2. Reading

Teacher: Some countries are very famous not only for their sightseeings but for their traditional dishes. Match the pictures to the names of the dishes and the countries where they are traditionally eaten.

Teacher: Read the text and use your dictionary to look up the words in bold.

Teacher: Answer the questions and find the words which are similar to words in your own language.

III SUMING-UP
