КОНКУРС ЗНАТОКОВ АНГЛИЙСКОГО ЯЗЫКА

«THE WORLD OF ENGLISH»



Предмет (направленность): английский язык

Возраст детей: 5-6 классы

Место проведения: класс, актовый зал.


Турнир знатоков английского языка «the World of English» - попытка превратить невероятно трудоемкий процесс запоминания слов в нечто радостное и увлекательное. Турнир может быть проведен в рамках урока, классного часа или же внеклассного мероприятия. Цель проведения - отработка и закрепление изученного лексического материала.

Занимательные упражнения в виде многочисленных кроссвордов и ребусов, которыми насыщен данный урок, способствуют максимальному использованию мыслительного потенциала. Они дают возможность, не впадая в скучную зубрежку, многократно и на разные лады повторять изучаемый материал, а эмоции, которые  испытывают ученики в процессе игры, являются мощным инструментом для его запоминания.  Торжество в момент отгадки ребуса или победы в игре - существенно повышает мотивацию учеников к изучению языка.


Ход урока.

Т: Today we are going to have an unusual lesson. It’ll be a lesson - competition. Everybody will have possibility to be a winner. At the end of the lesson the winner will be given a prize. Be very attentive and try to do everything correctly. Our first task is patters. Read them on your cards and try to pronounce them correctly. (Скороговорки нужно написать на отдельных карточках и раздать их членам команды. Кто лучше и четче произнесет, тот и победит.)


1. Pats black cat is in Pats black hat.

2. Hickety, pickety, my black cat likes to sit in my blue hat.

3. Geb is Bob’s dog. Tob is Mob’s dog.

4. A girl sees three big grey geese.

5. A cup of nice coffee is in nice coffee-cup.

6. Sid sees six trees.

7. Pat keeps two pets.

8. If you, Sandy, have two candies, give one candy to Andy, Sandy.

9. If you, Andy, have two candies give one candy to Sandy, Andy.


T: (Затем предлагаются загадки. Их можно написать на карточках и раздать учащимся, но лучше читать загадки учителю). Now listen to the riddles.

1. I have four legs, but I can’t walk (a chair).

2. I’m tall and green; I’m in the garden (a tree).

3. Name two animals which together have four legs (two hens).

4. It does not have legs, but it goes (a clock).

5. It takes a house when it goes (turtle).

19. An old gentleman, bent with age, is asking questions on every page (a question mark).

20. My face is black, as black as night. On it with chalk all pupils write (a blackboard).


T: I think you like proverbs and sayings. Now we will have possibility to check up your knowledge.

Учащимся предлагаются пословицы на английском языке. Они должны подобрать к ним эквивалент на русском. Можно русский перевод оформить в презентации или на доске, и тогда учащимся нужно будет только выбрать необходимый вариант.

Actions speak louder than words. - He по словам судят, а по делам.

A friend in need is a friend indeed. - Друзья познаются в беде.

All’s well that ends well. - Все хорошо, что хорошо кончается.

Ask no questions and you’ll be told no lies. - He задавай ненужных вопросов.

Better late than never. - Лучше поздно, чем никогда.

Between two chairs one falls to the ground. - Между двумя стульями не усидишь.

Half a loaf is better than no bread. - На безрыбье и рак рыба.

Like mother, like daughter. - Яблоко от яблони недалеко падает.

Like father, like son. - Сын в отца пошел.

Make hay while the sun shines. - Коси, коса, пока роса. Куй железо, пока горячо.

No news is good news. — Если нет новостей - тоже неплохо.

Bad news travels fast. - У беды длинные ноги.

No smoke without fire. - Нет дыма без огня.

Out of sight, out of mind. - С глаз долой - из сердца вон.

The devil is not so black as he is painted. - He так страшен черт, как его малюют.

Tastes differ. - На вкус и цвет товарищей нет. О вкусах не спорят.

While there is life there is hope. - Пока живу - надеюсь. Надежда умирает последней.

Two is company but three is none. - Третий лишний.

You can’t eat cake and have it. - За двумя зайцами погонишься, ни одного не поймаешь.

T: Well, everything was all right. Now listen to the verses and try to put in the missed words.

Далее учащимся предлагаются рифмованные загадки, в которых нужно вставить слово в рифму.
