ТЕМА УРОКУ: Здорова їжа.
МЕТА:
Практична: вдосконалювати навички виразного читання, аудіювання, письма, усного мовлення; вчити учнів виокремлювати потрібну інформацію та робити висновки; активізувати лексичні одиниці теми в мові учнів.
Освітня: розширити знання учнів про культуру здорового харчування; розширити світогляд учнів.
Розвиваюча: розвивати здатність мовного самоконтролю; розвивати здібності швидко абстрагуватись та зосереджуватись; розвивати ініціативу, творчі здібності, кмітливість.
Виховна: виховувати вміння працювати в колективі, вчити будувати аргументовані відповіді, виховувати культуру правильного харчування.
Тип уроку: урок застосування знань, умінь та навичок.
Матеріально-технічне забезпечення: ноутбук з проектором та мультимедійною дошкою; мультимедійна презентація; відеоролик; аудіозапис; фліпчарт.
Дидактичні матеріали: словники, картки із завданнями, фото із продуктами здорового харчування.
Міжпредметні зв’язки: українська мова, біологія, інформатика.

1. Повідомлення теми та мети уроку.
Т: I want to start our lesson from introducing its motto. The motto of our today’s lesson is "One should eat to live, not live to eat". I want you to look at the blackboard, at the pictures, at the motto and guess the topic of our today’s lesson. I think you have guessed that the topic of our today's lesson is "Healthy food". Today we will speak about what should we eat to feel yourselves healthy, cheerful and have many energy to work and study. By the end of the lesson you should be able:
• to broaden your knowledge about healthy food;
• to read many interesting facts about healthy nutrition;
• to play and to learn at the same time.
There is a plate full of different fruits on my desk. We need them to make a Health Cocktail. But to get these fruits you have to do much work. Are you ready? Let’s go!

T: You needed to revise all the words from the topic for today. Let’s do the exercise and check your knowledge. There are letters of the alphabet on the sheet. Your task is to name some word of the topic near every letter. But you must do it quickly.

ІІI. Основна частина уроку.
1. Reading
a) Read the article and translate only the underlined words.
T: I propose you to read the text about products we need to eat to be healthy. We will translate only the underlined words to check your understanding of the given information.
Healthy eating
Healthy eating affects positively not only on your health but also on the appearance. Nutritionists have identified a number of rules that will help you lose weight and maintain an ideal weight. Follow these rules and you will feel the improvement.
Your body is complex and multifaceted. To be healthy you have to observe good personal hygiene, rest enough and eat right. If you start to follow these guidelines you will feel better, and you’ll see these improvements in the mirror.
1) Balanced diet
You should combine products of various food groups. Food pyramid, tables of calorie and calorie calculator will help you.
2) Physical activity
Physical activity equilibrates the balance of energy needs. People, who work mentally, need increased activity.
3) Products with corn
They contain protein, vitamin B1, magnesium, iron, zinc and valuable dietary fiber. The dietary fiber facilitates a struggle with overweight, so you should find the diet enriched with fiber.
4) Dairy products
It is a source of calcium and vitamin B2. They can be replaced by yoghurt or cheese. Dairy products are especially important for children and pregnant women.
5) Fish and leguminous plants
It is a source of full protein. We should eat fish or seafood and leguminous plants instead of meat 2-3 times a week.
6) Fruits and vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are low in calories, have lots of vitamins, mineral elements and valuable fiber. You should follow the rule to eat fruits and vegetables 5 times a day.
7) Animal fats
Animal fats contain saturated fatty acids and cholesterol. We should use fats of vegetable origin instead of animal fats.
8) Sugar and sweets
Sugar is a source of empty calories, that doesn’t contain nutrients. It is recommended to eliminate the consumption of sugar and sweets in the daily menu.
9) Salt
You need to take as little salt. Instead of salt you should use herbs and spices.

T: And now open your exercise-books, write the date, classwork. Look at the screen. In this exercise you have to put the words in the right order to make sentences. The first word of the sentence is written from the capital letter.

P1: Peach, aubergine, parsley, beetroot, raspberry and tangerine are fruits and vegetables. They are healthy products because they contain a lot of vitamins and fiber.
P2: Walnuts, almond and curds are healthy food because they have proteins and vitamins and give us a lot of energy.
P3: Cookies, butter and buns are unhealthy products because of their high contents of fat.
P4: Chips and hamburger are unhealthy food because they are fast food and high-fat products.
P5: Porridge is a healthy food because it contains vitamin B1.
P6: Salmon is healthy food because it contains unprocessed fat that is useful for us.
P7: Veal is healthy food because it is dietary and nutritional product.
P8: Potatoes are unhealthy food because it contains a lot of starch.

Учні переглядають відеоролик «How to Develop Healthy Eating Habits». Після перегляду відеоролика учні висловлюють свої думки про проблеми здорового харчування, а також про те, наскільки цікавим та змістовним було для них відео.
