Тема:What Are Holidays?
Практические задачи: совершенствовать навыки говорения и аудирования, тренировать обучающихся в чтении и письме; формировать навыки употребления новых лексических единиц на уровне предложения; организовать творческую работу учеников в группе.
Образовательные задачи: расширять филологический кругозор обучающихся; привлекать к диалогу культур; формировать учебные умения: самостоятельно работать с учебным раздаточным материалом, взаимодействовать в группах; формировать автономию обучающегося: учить работать с учебником, словарем.
Развивающие задачи: стимулировать познавательно- коммуникативную мотивацию обучающихся; развивать речевые навыки, слуховую и краткосрочную память, речевую реакцию; содействовать развитию языковой догадки, воображения; развивать коммуникабельность обучающихся, умения логично и последовательно излагать мысль на английском языке.
Воспитательные задачи: воспитывать культуру общения, чувства самоуважения и уважения к окружающим; формировать позитивные качества характера: активность в исполнении общих заданий, настойчивость в преодолении трудностей, трудолюбие, старательность, опрятность, толерантность; воспитывать стойкий интерес к изучению английского языка.

T. Today we are going to speak on the special theme. But what is the topic of our lesson? You’ll know it after solvingthis crossword. It also can help you to remind some words that you‘ve learnt. Look at the board and try to read a secret word which is hidden in the crossword.

T. Right you are. The full topic of our lesson is What Are Holidays?By the end of the lesson you should be able to speak on this topic using new words, tell about different holidays and answer the question: what are holidays?We are going to play, danceand sing!
T. Look at the board. You can see a table with some adjectives. Read them at first slowly, then quicker and at last as quickly as you can.
T. Let’s play the game “Holidays May Be…” Repeat the phrase “Holidays may be …” and add one of these adjectives, then translate the sentence into Ukrainian. Work one by one. I’ll start: Holidays may be historical. Свята можуть бути історичними.It’s your turn.

T. Now take one of these cards. Look at the colour of your card and sit down at the table where you can see the flag of the same colour. It will be your creative group. Turn over your cards. You can see parts of the name of a holiday there. Guess, what is the holiday? It will be the subject of your project work. Choose the leader of your group. He or she will give you marks according to your work with the help of Evaluation Cards. Then take everything you need to create the project. You can use information you have learnt: poems, songs, proverbs, etc.The preparation time is 15 minutes.
