Цель урока: знакомство с новой лексикой и употребление ее в ранее изученных грамматических структурах.
Задачи урока:

– практиковать употребление лексических единиц по теме «ориентация по городу» и «транспорт»;
- совершенствовать грамматические и речевые навыки.

Постановка цели и задач урока:
Today we will have an unusual lesson. We will travel around London. We will visit different places. At each place you will have a task. If you do it correctly you will get a key letter. At the end of our lesson you will tell me the key word.

Before we will start our traveling let’s drill our sounds. Read the short poem correctly and all together.
He likes to travel by plane.

Our next stop is the Houses of Parliament. If you want to continue our traveling around London, you should revise the vocabulary concerning transport. Go to the board one by one and fill the gaps in the words. If all your letters are correct you will get your third letter. Let’s start.

Our third stop is Westminster abbey. At this stop you will learn new words. Firs you will listen, and then repeat the new words. After that you will look at the map in your books and find the addresses of different places. If all your letters are correct you will get your second letter. Let’s start. Open your books on page 49, find exercise 1. Listen read and repeat. (listen to the cassette).
Ok, open your books on page 50. Look at the map and find out the addresses of the places in you cards. Match the words. Read your answers. Your answers were right, so you have got your third letter.

(the second dialogue). Thank you very much. And now the policewoman will be Irina, Gosha will ask her the directions. (the third dialogue). You dialogues were good, take your fourth letters.

Now we will go to our last stop. It is the London Eye.
