Educational aid: to speak about Kazakh national sport, British and American kinds of sport and games.

Equipment: cards with questions, wallpaper, dictionaries, puzzles.

Type of the lesson: the game

Methods of teaching: exercise, reading, conversation.

Organization moment: Good Afternoon! Sit down, please. How are you? Who is on duty today? What date is it today? What day is it today? Who is absent? How many lessons have you got today? What are they? Who is the teacher of Biology?

Phonetic drill: Let’s recollect numerals: 66 – sixty six, 78 – seventy eight…

Type of the lesson: the game

Methods of teaching: exercise, reading, conversation.

Our lesson is about sport and games.

And I suggest you making 2 teams. The first team is named “Rounds” and the second one “Diamonds”.

For each right answer I’ll give you an apple which you will hang the apple upon the tree of your team. Who has more apples that team will win this game.

What kind of sport do you know? What do you like? As you know sport increases our health. That’s why there are some sayings in England.

1.Now I’ll give one saying and one joke to each team. You must explain them.

Sayings:

  1. An apple a day keeps doctor away.

  2. Health is above wealth.

Jokes:

  1. Good medicine.

Patient: I suffer terribly from headaches. What advice can you give me, doctor? Should I take headache tablets?

Doctor: Yes, I have got some fine tablets for your trouble. One of my patients has been using them for fifteen years and he has never asked for any more.

  1. Foggy football.

After a football match two sports ground workers were walking across the field to take down the nets from the goal posts. It was a very foggy day and so it took them some time to find the goal. And whom did they find there? The goalkeeper. He was standing near the goal and talking to himself, « We must be given them a really tough »
