  1. Goal: to learn names of animals

Objectives:

  1. Educational: to learn names of animals and to distinguish them;

  2. Upbringing: to teach children for patient and responsibility;

  3. Developing: to arouse children’s thinking ability and be able to define animals.

Materials and Resources: pictures, slide-presentation, video materials, flash cards.

Key words: cow, dog, pig, chick, duck, horse, sheep, tiger, lion, bear, elephant, wolf, hare.

Moment

  • Good morning!

  • Sit down, children.

Children stand in a circle, greet each other and the tutor. - good morning, good morning, good morning to you. Good morning, good morning, I`m glad to see you.

Warm-up

  • I want to begin our lesson with short fairytale. (Phonetic exercise.) once upon a time there lived a small dog. Its name was Rex. Every time when he was angry he made the sound [rrrrrrrrrrrrr]

Presentation

Slide-presentation of new theme.

1. Teacher shows the picture of animals, and says in different ways: loudly, in whisper quickly, slowly.



  1. Children repeat the new words.





Practice

2.Then they distinguish sounds by looking at their pictures.

3.Miming game.


  1. Children listen to animal’s sound, try to find a picture of it.

  2. Children imitate the animals without saying a word.

Production

4.Game: “true or false”

Teacher shows an animal’s picture to the children without looking at them, children check it, if it is correct they clap their hands, if it isn’t correct they stamp their feet.

5.Teacher gives a sheet of paper with the pictures of wild and domestic animals to two teams. Then teacher switches on the tape (listening).

  1. Children take a part with a big enthusiasm in a game.






  1. Children should point to the animals which are mentioned on the tape.




Assessment.

The points counted by teacher. The winner team takes excellent marks.


What do children know? Children know names of animals and distinguish them. Children know where live wild animals and domestic animals. Can imitate them and distinguish by their sounds.
