A village family
Jabu and his family are from a mountain village in Nepal. Jabu has got one sister called Pomzi and one brother called Norbu. Pomzi is seven years old and Norbu is a baby. His father, Kepu, is a farmer. Jabu’s mother is called Cheuki and his grandmother is called Bajai.
The family isn’t rich and they’ve got a small house in the village. It hasn’t got electricity and has only got one window. In the house they’ve got three cupboards, two small tables and a fire for cooking.
The family has got some animals. They haven’t got a dog, but Pomzi has got a small pet cat. Cheuki has got ten hens for eggs. Kepu hasn’t got a tractor for his small farm. He’s got two oxen.
Jabu has lessons with the village teacher and helps his mother and father. His favourite sport is badminton and he plays it with his friends in the village.
