Тема урока «Present Perfect vs Past Simple»


Цель урока: развивать общемыслительные и речевые способности, используя речевые образцы, способность отличать Present Perfect от Past Simple.



Задачи урока:


1. Образовательные:

  • повторить употребление Present Perfect для выражения действия, совершившегося в прошлом, но имеющего непосредственную связь с настоящим моментом;

  • повторить употребление Past Simple для выражения действия, совершившегося в прошлом;

  • научить переводить с русского на английский язык, используя Present Perfect и Past Simple.

2. Развивающие:

  • развивать внимание, восприятие, память;

  • развивать активность и самостоятельность в условиях коллективной и индивидуальной деятельности.

3. Воспитательные:

  • воспитывать творческое отношение к делу;

  • воспитывать терпимость к чужим ошибкам.


Материалы: компьютерная презентация, раздаточный материал.

Ресурсы: учебники, тетради, Интернет, картинки.

Используемые технологии: технология развивающего обучения, обучение в сотрудничестве, дифференцированный подход, информационно-коммуникационные, здоровье-сберегающие технологии.

Формы организации учебной деятельности учащихся: парно-групповая деятельность, индивидуальная работа.

Ход урока:


1.Warm-up:

Good morning dear friends. Let’s start our lesson. I would like to begin it with a short poem. Read it and fill in the missing words.

The fox slept in the ______.

The _______ slept in the mitten.

The frog slept in the _____.

The _____ slept on the mat. (box, kitten, log, cat)


I’ve broken my _____.

I can’t drink tea.

I’ve broken my TV-set –

I can’t ______ TV. (cup, watch)


He’s done his homework,

He’s cleaned his _____,

He’s _______his cat. (fed, York, flat)


Bob _____ with Kate,

2.Grammar:

Today we are going to speak about Present Perfect and Past Simple and how we should distinguish them.

First of all look at the table and repeat all grammar about past simple. (picture 1,2)

It’s time to remember present perfect.


As you know every tense has time words. Present perfect and past simple have them too, but look they have mixed. Your task will be to find correct time words for present perfect and past simple.





Yesterday, this morning, last week, the day before yesterday, last year, already,

yet, two minutes ago, lately, just, in 1986, recently.




Well done!


You know time words very well and it will be easy for you to fill in already, yet or yesterday.


1. I haven’t cooked dinner…. .

2. Did you cook dinner …..?

3. They have ….bought a present for Ann.

4. I haven’t met him…. .


3.Listening:

I want to ask two pupils to act out the dialogue. Your task will be to listen to them very attentively and remember all present perfects and past simples’ examples.

What forms have you heard?


  • Hello, Pete, I haven’t seen you for ages.

  • I was on holiday. I came back last night.

  • Have you had your holiday this year yet, Mary?

  • Not yet. I am taking it at the end of June.

  • Where are you going? I think or going to Spain.

  • But you have been there twice!


I think it’s time to remember verbs. They may be regular and irregular.

4.Reading:

Let’s do task 4. Read the task. Read all the verbs from the 1 column. (the 2, 3)

It’s time to remember irregular verbs. Listen to me; I’ll give you the first form you should repeat it and give me the second and the third forms.


We have repeated present perfect and past simple forms. Your next task will be task 5. Circle the correct verb.

5.Writing:

What is the place?

Good! Look at the verb forms in these sentences about Buckingham palace. If the verb form is wrong cross-it-out (x) and write the correct form, if the verb is correct, put a stick (v).

1. The Duke of Buckingham has built the palace in 1703. built.

2. King George II bought it in 1761. _______

3. The Royal Family lived in the palace since 1837. _______

4. In 1995 Queen Elizabeth has decided to open the palace to the public.________

5. Since 1995 thousands of tourists visited the palace. _______
