“THE GAME “FIND THE QUEEN’S RING”
Explaining the rules:
I’ve just learned that an awful disaster happened in the Royal family. Somebody has stolen the favourite Queen’s ring and has hidden it somewhere in London. The members of the family don’t know where to find it and they can’t solve the problem without your help. The Queen invited you to help her. However she invited not only the Scotland Yard (the police) but also the detectives. Some of you will be the members of Scotland Yard and the others will be the detectives. Now we are to decide it (to pass over the cards).
I will be the Prime Minister, and one of you will be my assistant. Our task is to help you in your investigation. You can use our help only three times. If you don’t know the right answer you can ask us. I am to give advice to the “Scotland Yard” and my assistant – to the group “Detectives”.
Now you are in Buckingham Palace, in the official residence of the Queen. It’s not easy to find the ring. The thief, being very sly, has left a lot of evidence all over London in different places. You are to find them.
Here you can see the map of London where the places, connected with the Royal Family are marked. You are to collect all the evidence so you’ll know the place where the ring is hidden. It’s difficult to find them because the Guard of the buildings don’t want to let you in. They will ask you to do some task. When you answer the questions you get the evidence and go further on the map.
The Queen said that in the box where the ring was, the thief left a strange piece of paper. On the one side there are two or three letters, you are to collect all the letters and make the name of the place from them. On the other side there is the description of the place where you are to go next. Which team will get to the place the first so this team is a winner. As a starting point we are to decide which team will answer the question first. So, you are to do some interesting tasks. I wish you good luck and success! Let’s start our competition!
Your first task is to complete the crossword.
Down: 1) The capital of Wales
3) What is a double-decker?
5) The Englishmen’s favourite drink
