Цели урока:
совершенствование навыков устной речи по теме «Environmental problems»;
развитие умения выбирать необходимые языковые и речевые средства для решения предложенной коммуникативной задачи;
воспитание уважительного отношения к родной природе.
Задачи урока:
обеспечить дальнейшую тренировку и закрепление лексики по теме «Environmental problems»;
обеспечить тренировку грамматического материала по теме «Conditionals» в коммуникативно окрашенных упражнениях тренировочного характера;
практиковать учащихся в чтении с извлечением детальной информации из текста;
развивать умение излагать на английском языке результаты коллективной поисково-познавательной деятельности.
Оборудование: компьютер, мультимедийная презентация, учебники, распечатки с текстом и тестом к нему, распечатка песни.

Учитель приветствует учащихся, организует прослушивание стихотворения, задает вопросы по стихотворению, сообщает цель урока.
Учащиеся прослушивают стихотворение и отвечают на вопросы.
Обучение лексической стороне речи – 3 минут
Учитель обращает внимание детей на презентацию, где расположены слова. Детям предлагается найти антонимы и синонимы.
Учащиеся выполняют задание.
Обучение грамматической стороне речи – 4 минуты
Учитель предлагает дополнить предложения.
Учащиеся выполняют задание учителя.
Обучение чтению с извлечением детальной информации из текста – 20 минут
Учитель предлагает учащимся познакомится с текстом “THE WORLD OF NATURE” и выполнить тестовые задания на карточках.
Учащиеся знакомятся с текстом, выполняют тест.
Обучение говорению (показ видеороликов) – 10 минут
Учитель предлагает посмотреть видеоролики, выполненные группами учащихся. После просмотра идёт обсуждение.
Учащиеся смотрят ролики и переходят к обсуждению.
Подведение результатов урока, домашнее задание – 5 минут
Учитель предлагает сделать выводы по ходу урока, выставляет оценки и задаёт домашнее задание. Учащимся предлагается спеть песню Майкла Джексона «Исцели мир»
Учащиеся делают вывод и записывают домашнее задание. Поют песню.
Ход урока
I.Организация класса.
Good morning , students! I’m glad to see today. How are you?
Who is on duty today?
Who is absent?
Students, listen to the poem written by a British girl, Miriam Mackley. (ex.50 p.53) Do you agree or disagree with her? Why? How do you think what problems we shall discuss today?
S.1: I think we shall discuss the problems of pollution of our environment.
S.2: I guess we shall discuss how we can save the Earth from pollution.
T.: You are right. Today we go on studying the theme “ What Can We Do to Save the Earth?” And we’ll discuss what we can do to save the beauty of our village.

THE WORLD OF NATURE.
1. People have always affected Nature. But during the last two centuries due to the development of industry human has transformed the environment radically. Satellite observations of the Earth have revealed that 60% of land surface is damaged by industrial agricultural and other human activities.
2 .The world has over 9 million square km of forests. This is a lot of trees, and also a lot of different species of trees. But they are disappearing fast. In many of our towns there are streets or areas where the names remind us that forests have been cleared to make place us to live.
Every day we see paper and cardboard – both made from wood – being used up. We see different kinds of wood being used in furniture and other ways. Every year over 100 000 sq. km. of forest is so badly damaged that it is very hard for it to recover.
3. Development of industries often means the destruction of the natural habitat of rare plants and insects. The power stations in the UK are responsible for causing acid rain not only in Britain but elsewhere in Europe. More than 450 mln of Britain’s trees are affected by acid rain.
The world is also experiencing a permanent decline in water quality and water availability. In a lot of places water supplies are poisoned with toxic chemicals and nitrates. Waterborne diseases kill 10 million people a year.
Can we presererve the life? Can we preserve the quality of life necessary for future generations? When we are sick we try to take care of ourselves. There is nobody but us, humans, to take care of the Earth that is sick because of our actions. Can we do something? YES,we can. And we are the only life form that is able to destroy our life support system. But we are sensible beings and we can maintain life on Earth for the many generations to come.

T.: You understood that people can pollute the environment very much. But people can save it too. It depends from each of us. How can we help our nature?
What can we do for it? Groups of your class made a video “How can we keep our village beautiful?» It was their personal task. Let’s see and listen to their video

S.1: Avoid dropping litter here!

T.: Students, do you know now what you can do to save the Earth from pollution?
What can you do to save the beauty of our village?
S.1: We can never drop litter.
S.2: We can pick up litter and put up signs that say, “Please don’t litter”.
S.3: We can stop and think before we throw anything away.
S.4: We can help to clean up our local envirinment.
S.5: We can plant flowers and trees to make our village nicer.
S.6: We can try to avoid buying things we really don’t have any use for.
T.: What is the conclusion of our lesson ?
S.: We must take care of our nature, help it and love it.
VI.Подведение итогов урока.
– Thank you, all. I must say that we are closely connected with our mutual home- planet Earth. When we speak about ecological problems we mean not only nature, but also people’s health and problems of human relationships. So, take care about environment and you’ll be healthy and happy. At the end of our lesson I offer you to sing Michael Jackson’s song “Heal the World”.(слайд 5)
