WHAT A HOLIDAY!
Alice, 15
When I was a child, my family and I used to spend our summer holidays on my grandparents’ farm. I used to have a lot of fun. However, my best holiday was last summer, when my family and I went to Marbella in Spain. It was the first time I had visited a foreign country and the first time I had travelled by plane. At first I felt excited but also a bit scared about the flight but then it was ok.
We stayed in a fantastic hotel near the beach. It had a big swimming pool and the food was fine. I had lots of fun and made some new friends. They spoke different languages: French, Spanish and English. Sometimes it was hard to get them to understand what I was trying to say.
The weather was hot… some days it was too hot for me. I stayed on the beach most of the time: I swam, played with my friends and lay in the sun. I got a nice tan.
My friends and I decided to go camping nearby. We cycled there and it was a big adventure. What was best, though, was there were no parents so we could decide what to do every day!
I love theme parks and my parents took me to a brilliant one. It may not sound like a very exotic place to go, but I loved it!
Every night there was loud music and lights flashed on the pub and disco doors. It looked like the Blackpool illuminations.
I loved everything about these holidays but I especially enjoyed being with my family and making new friends.
