Theatre in Great Britain

Britain has a long and rich dramatic tradition.

The two national companies, the National itself which stages modern and classical plays and the Royal Shakespeare company! which is performing in Stratford-upon-Avon, and in London.

British theatre has become more cosmopolitan in outlook, with the World Theatre seasons that started at the Aldwych in London in 1964, and more receptive to influences from abroad.

The whole image of the British theatre has changed of late. It's more respectable, less tied to commercial considerations and more ambitious.

Contemporary British playwrights who have received recognition at home and overseas include Harold Pinter, Tom Stoppard and some others.

Considerable interest is shown at present for the professional arts festivals which take place each year. The Edinburgh International Festival featuring a wide range of different arts, is the largest of its kind in the world.

Organized in late 1925 in Kyzylorda, which was at that time the capital of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic.

The theater opened on January 13, 1926 play "Sakina Altyn" ( "Golden Ring") Cat Kemengerova staged seraglio Kozhamkulova and a big concert.

In 1928, with the transfer of the capital to Alma-Ata to the same was transferred to the theater. Since 1937 the theater was awarded the title of the academic, and since 1961 the name of Mukhtar Auezova.

At the root of the theater were masters of folk art and amateur A. Kashaubaev, K. Dzhandarbekov, Kozhamkulov S., K. Kuanyshpaev, E. Umurzakov, I. Baizakov, K.Beisov, K. Bader, Munaitpasov K., J. Shanin , F. Ashkeeva, Z. Atabaeva, Sh Baizakov Shamova M. et al.

In the early years of the theater directors nominated from the actor's environment: Shanin, Kozhamkulov, Dzhandarbekov. On the creation of the first repertoire worked Auezov writers, Seifullin, Myleene. In the early period of staged performances, reflecting the establishment of Soviet power: "Red Falcons" Seifullin "Zarlyk" Uspanov and Uteulin; as well as the life of the old village, pre-revolutionary life of the Kazakh people "Karakoz", "Baybishe - Current" Auezov, "Wedding", "Sly Mullah" Maylin "Malkambay" Erdanaeva "Torsykbay", "Aidarbek", "Arkalyk Batyr" Shanin.

In the 30 theatre attracts professional Russian directors (MG Nasonov, IB Hog, MA Sokolovsky), artists (K. Khodzhikov), proceed to setting challenging dramatic works: «Night peals» Auezov, «Amangeldy» Mailin and Musrepov.

In 1941-45. the basis of the repertoire of performances devoted to the heroic struggle of the Soviet people: "In the hour of trial" Auezov, "Guards of honor" and Auezov Abisheva and "Sir-Ahan - Ak Tokta" Musrepov, "Taming of the Shrew" by Shakespeare.

The most significant statement in the 40-80-ies. "Friendship and love", "Career and conscience" Abisheva, "Millionaire" Mustafina, "Yesterday and Today", "Hard Fate" Khusainov, "One tree - not the forest" Tazhibaeva, "cub under a cap", "Matchmaker arrived" "In a foreign country," Mukhamedzhanov, "Saule", "Buran" Akhtanov, "The Heart of the poet" Shashkin, "unquenchable fire" Kabdolov, "Ascent of Mount Fuji" Aitmatov, Mukhamedzhanov and many others. Performances are in the Kazakh language, with simultaneous translation into Russian.
