Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку

Topic: «The United States of America»

Форма проведения – Морской бой

Цели:

1) Учебный аспект:

  • активизировать изученную лексику по теме в речи учащихся;

  • практиковать учащихся в диалогической и монологической речи;

2) Развивающий аспект:

  • развивать коммуникативные навыки;

  • творческое мышление;

3) Воспитывающий аспект:

  • воспитывать у учащихся интерес к англоговорящим странам;

  • Воспитывать ответственность друг за друга.

Учебные пособия: игровое поле для игры «Морской бой»; тематические картины и фотографии с изображением достопримечательностей Америки; задание на карточках «Составь предложение»; 2 набора карточек для игры «Составь слова»; видеопроектор.

Ход мероприятия.

Teacher: Good morning, everybody! I am glad to see you.

Учитель предлагает учащимся разделиться на две команды.

1. Вступительное слово учителя:

Welcome to our game «Sea Battle». We have two teams. I hope you know how to play this name. You will try to guess where the ship of the enemy is. Then you will have the task. If the pupils of one team do the task better than another, they will have the ship. At the end of the game the teams will count the ships and we will find out who is the winner.

Учитель привлекает внимание учащихся к игровому полю, заранее вывешенному на доске, и напоминает правила игры «Морской бой». Команды по очереди открывают клетки игрового поля, на котором расположено 6 кораблей. Каждый корабль занимает 1 клетку игрового поля. Если команда назвала номер клетки, на которой расположен корабль, обе команды выполняют задание. Команда, выполнившая задание лучше и успешнее, получает корабль. Выигрывает команда, которая «захватила» больше кораблей.

8. What tradition did the first colonists start? (They started the tradition of Thanksgiving Day.)

9. What are the colours of the American flag? (The colours of the American flag are red, white and blue.)

10. How many people live in the USA? (More than 250 million people live in the USA.)

Teacher: Each team has prepared 5 wrong statements about the political system of the USA. I want you to read the statements one by one and another team will correct them.

Команды приготовили неправильные утверждения по теме «Политическая система США». Затем команды по очереди зачитывают свои утверждения, а соперники должны эти утверждения исправить.

1. The Congress is divided into 3 parts. (2 parts)

2. Every state sends 4 men to the Senate. (2 persons)

3. The President makes the laws. (The President signs bills and then they become laws.)

What is this story about?

Teacher: Each team has prepared two stories about some interesting places in America.

Guess what are these stories about.

Команды представляют по два рассказа.

1. The part where the President of the United States lives and works is not open to the public. It is one of the most beautiful places in the capital of the USA. It consists of 132 rooms. You can visit the library, the Red Room, the Blue Room and the Green Room with fantastic old furniture.

2. It is one of the places, which attract the tourists visiting America. It is one mile deep and 277 miles long. There are different kinds of plants and animals on the opposite sides of this place. The south side is a dry and a desert country. The north side has tall forests. This place looks different at different times of the day and in different seasons and weather.

3. It was built in New York Harbor in 1886. It was a gift to America from the people of France. About 12 million immigrants passed through New York when they came to America. It is America’s symbol of freedom.

4. It is the tallest building in Washington, D. C., and the most famous building in the USA, because it is the place where laws are made. It is surrounded by a beautiful garden with many trees and flowers. You can visit it from nine a. m. to 3:45 p. m. You can learn there a lot about the first settlements in New England.

Члены команд рассказывают о четырех праздниках каждая и угадывают названия праздников.

Ученица исполняет песню из к/ф «Титаник».

Teacher: Thank you for your work. It is interesting to know who is the winner today. I want you to count your ships. Let’s recite our poem.

Учащиеся подсчитывают количество кораблей и поздравляют победителей. Учитель благодарит учащихся за работу и предлагает всем вместе рассказать стихотворение.
