T; Dear friends, today we are going to have a talk and discuss the problem of disappearing animals.

The Red Data Book - Красная Книга.
Rare - редкий.
Whale - кит.
Blood - кровь.
Species - виды.
Tortoise - черепаха.
IV . Вступительное слово учителя.
T; Not only people can speak. Books can speak too. There is a kind of book which cries for help. It’s Red Data Book. It’s a book on rare and disappearing animals. Why is it “Red”?
The colour “red” is:
a danger signal, which is understandable to all people in the world.
The red light means “Stop!” You have to think, why many plants and animals disappear every day.
The colour “red” is one of blood and life. You should hear the world around you. It calls for help. ( учитель показывает макет Красной Книги с изображением редких и исчезающих животных на фоне природных ландшафтов.)
T; What animals can you see in this Red Book?
P1: We can see a tiger, an elephant, a whale, a crocodile, swans, cranes here.
T: There are many species of animals that may disappear from the Earth during the next few years. For some species it is already too late. The American passenger pigeon was once a very common bird. Now it is gone forever. The last one died in a zoo in 1914.

3)Аудирование текста.( 2 раза)
In Africa the Ciravira River flows into Lake Victoria. Thousands of crocodiles live in it. It is a mystery how crocodiles can catch their victims. First crocodiles hear the noise. Antelopes have come. These animals are thirsty. They have run about 170 km in fierce heat. The crocodiles are very hungry. Young antelopes are going far into the water. They don’t know that crocodiles are dangerous. They have never seen them. And a crocodile catches its victim.
Crocodiles appeared on the Earth 200 million years ago. There are 21 species of them. People have hunted crocodiles for many years. The result is that 14 species are included into the Red Data Book. Nowadays people breed them in incubators.

P1: We can feed birds and animals in winter and help them to survive in the cold.
P2: We must not take the babies of animals home.
P3: We can plant more trees and not to cut down the forests.

T: Children, I suggest you to make posters, telling people about animals of our place.
(Учащиеся делятся на группы, получают всё необходимое: клей, ножницы, маркеры, бумагу, образцы из журналов, рисунки животных.)
