Learners given papers to cut out circle and overwrite names and ages on the badge. E.g. She is Assel. She is six.

Introducing new words


Teacher demonstrates and drills birthday words: cake, balloons, candles, cards, presents, party



Practicing new words

Teacher gives each learner a blank card and images of above cut out for small group of students to share. Teacher gives instructions about making and decorating the card for learners to follow e.g. Put a cake on the card. Colour the cake red. etc



The activity "Surprise Box"

  1. Teacher brings the box with the hole to class with objects

  2. Students come to the board one by one and gets one object from the box and Teacher names this object in English

  3. Whole class repeats the words after Teacher three times.

  4. Teacher can ask each student to repeat the words
