1. The country I live in is called the Russian Federation or just Russia.
2. It is the largest state in the world.
3. Its territory is over 17 million square kilometres.
4. Today the population is more than 146.5 million people.
5. My country borders on Norway, Finland, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, the Ukraine, Gergia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and Korea and also has sea border with the USA.
6. Russia is a multinational state. Some peoples of our country even have their own language, culture and traditions.
8. The longest rivers are the Volga, the Lena, The Ob, the Amur, The Yenisei, The Irtish. The main lakes are the Baikal in Siberia. It is the world’s deepest lake. There are also lakes in Karelia such as Lake Ladoga and Lake Onega.
7. Russia is a democratic federative state with a republican form of government.
8. Our country consists of 89 constituent entities (republics, krays, oblast, cities of federal significance and so on).
9. The head of the state is the President. Our flag consists of three colours white, blue and red.
10. Russian is a national language in our country and every person speaks it.
11. The capital of our country is Moscow, one of the biggest cities in our country.
12. Russia is rich in raw materials and energy. The landscape is very diverse. I love my country and very proud of living here.
